EurOrient is a private global development financial institution based in the US, which was established in 1988 and recognized by the United Nations. This group’s assets now are valued at USD 33 billion.
EurOrient is negotiating with Vietnamese partners on a wind power plant project in Hanoi, said the company’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ron Nechemia. According to the CEO, his company is negotiating with Vietnamese partners on the construction of a wind power plant in Hanoi and investment in a member company of the Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group. CEO Ron Nechemia will work with the Vietnamese Prime Minister to complete the negotiation process. Specifically, EurOrient will cooperate with a Vietnamese partner in Hanoi to build a wind power plant in the Hanoi Capital with a daily capacity of 100-120 MW. The total investment capital is estimated at around USD 120 million, of which EurOrient will contribute around 70%. EurOrient plans to invest around USD 1 billion in 3-4 projects in Vietnam each year. According to Ron Nechemia, EurOrient is considering investing in power, infrastructure, finance, real estate, and seaports in Vietnam. This group is also asking for a build-operate-transfer (BOT) investment licence for Long Thanh Airport in the southern province of Dong Nai. The form of investment of EurOrient is contributing capital to make joint ventures or wholly-foreign owned companies, loaning or both contributing capital and loaning. Source: VNE, Sept. 10, 2007 |
